I'm from Texas and you just can't find good barbcue in Arizona. This place is an exception. The brisket and pulled pork are amazing. Not to mention the sides are wonderful as well. My favorite part was the jalapeno corn bread. Perfect mix of sweet with just a hint of spice.
It's not a steal. You basically pay for what you get and that's it. So if prices seem on the higher side, the favors and quality are the reason why. If prices were any higher I'd probably have to remove a star. But so far it seems fair.
PRICE:
During high season it can get quite busy so prepare to wait (the food is worth it I promise). As far as atmosphere, I always sit outside to enjoy the amazing views. When you eat in Jerome, there's no such thing as bad location.
One of the worst most embarrassing experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. Our server was incredibly infriendly from the time we visited, refused my friend's passport as proper identification for an ID which is accepted anywhere else. I pay my tab, and we leave the table and the the lady met as at the front door exclaiming she was calling the police for walking out. Money and her tip was on the table. I was mortified. She didn't even bother to check before accusing me. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
The SANDWICHES come loaded with enough meet and garnishes to leave you walking out with a happy belly, but tasty enough that they'll leave you craving more. This is gluttony at its best.
I usually get the sandwiches but I've mooched off of my friends' plates to try other things too. The BRISKET and CORN-BREAD are done to perfection.
LOCATION / ATMOSPHERE:
A bit a drive to get here. Probably from just about anywhere, but it is worth it. Brisket was terrific. The sauce selection is good. We liked the jalapeño molasses. The service was excellent.
Service is very friendly, never had a problem.
SERVICE:
The meal was delish! We had the 2 entree combo w/ brisket & pork! Both were tender, moist & flavorful. The prickely pear lemonade was totally worth the venture from the norm! Our server (I can only remember her as "Blue" nicknamed for her hair color) was great! She was very attentive and comedic! I would totally eat here again and recommend this dining establishment! Big bonus it's they are dog friendly!!!
This may just be one of my top 2 favorite places for BBQ in the state of Arizona. In fact, it's become my main place to eat when I visit Jerome (and I tend to like most eateries in Jerome).
What really makes it here (besides the great texture of the meat) are their house BBQ sauces: Garlic, Sweet and Spicy. They're all so good that I often find myself switching from one sauce to the other multiple times during my meal.
I usually get Bobby's Big Boy sandwich which comes loaded with the best of all worlds: brisket, pulled pork, smoked sausage, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, and provolone on a hoagie.
